Atlanta Pride Festival Guide 2026
Your complete guide to Atlanta Pride 2026. Parade route, dates, what to wear, where to stay, LGBTQ neighborhoods, and local insider tips.
Atlanta Pride is the largest Pride celebration in the Southeast, drawing over 300,000 people to Midtown Atlanta for a weekend of parades, festivals, and community events. Held in October — a tradition since the 1970s — Atlanta Pride takes advantage of mild fall weather and gives the Southeast its own major Pride weekend separate from the crowded June calendar. Piedmont Park serves as the festival's home base, and the Midtown neighborhood becomes a city-wide celebration.

What to expect at Atlanta Pride 2026
Atlanta Pride is a two-day celebration in and around Piedmont Park. The festival features live music on multiple stages, 150+ vendors, food trucks, a marketplace, community organization booths, and a kids' zone. Entertainment ranges from major musical acts to local drag performers and DJs.
The parade on Sunday is the highlight — a high-energy march down Peachtree Street featuring floats, dance troupes, community groups, corporate sponsors, and thousands of marchers. The parade ends at Piedmont Park, where the festival is in full swing.
Atlanta Black Pride is a separate, major event held September 2-7, 2026 — one of the largest Black LGBTQ+ Pride celebrations in the country. It's organized independently from Atlanta Pride and features its own schedule of events, parties, and community programming.
The parade route
The parade begins at the Civic Center MARTA station area on Peachtree Street and marches south on Peachtree, turning east on 10th Street and ending at Piedmont Park near the 10th Street entrance. The route is about 1.5 miles.
Best viewing is along Peachtree Street between North Avenue and 10th Street — the widest section with the most energy. The intersection of Peachtree and 10th Street is particularly festive. Arrive by 10:30 AM for a good spot.
Key neighborhoods
Midtown — The heart of Atlanta's LGBTQ+ community and home to Atlanta Pride. Piedmont Park, the High Museum of Art, and dozens of LGBTQ-friendly bars and restaurants are all here. Midtown Peachtree Street is the parade route.
Virginia-Highland — A charming, walkable neighborhood east of Midtown with great restaurants, boutique shopping, and a welcoming LGBTQ+ vibe. A short rideshare from Piedmont Park.
East Atlanta Village (EAV) — A laid-back, artsy neighborhood with dive bars, live music venues, and a strong queer community. Known for its eclectic nightlife and inclusive atmosphere.
Where to stay
Midtown is the best location — walking distance to both the parade route and Piedmont Park. Hotels along Peachtree Street and near the MARTA stations book up for Pride weekend, so reserve early.
Buckhead (north of Midtown) has more hotel options and is a short MARTA ride or rideshare away. Downtown hotels near the convention center area are often the most affordable and are connected to Midtown by MARTA.
October weather in Atlanta is ideal — expect highs in the mid-70s with low humidity.
Getting there
MARTA (Atlanta's rapid transit) is the best option. The Civic Center and North Avenue stations are near the parade start. The Midtown station is between the parade route and Piedmont Park. Arts Center station is also a short walk to the park.
Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL) connects directly to MARTA — it's about a 25-minute train ride from the airport to Midtown. Parking in Midtown on Pride weekend is extremely limited, so plan to use transit or rideshare.
