Getting to Seattle Pride — Travel Guide

Guide to getting there in Seattle 2026. Event dates, what to expect, planning tips, and everything you need for an amazing experience.

Getting to Seattle Pride is straightforward with the right plan. Here's how to get there by plane, transit, and car.

Flying in

Seattle-Tacoma International (SEA) is the nearest major airport. Link Light Rail runs directly from SEA to downtown (~40 min).

Book flights early — Pride weekend drives up airfare to Seattle. Midweek arrivals (Wednesday or Thursday) are often significantly cheaper than Friday.

Public transit

The Link Light Rail is the best way to get to the parade on the day of the event. Key stops:

  • Westlake (near parade start)
  • Capitol Hill (LGBTQ+ neighborhood). Monorail from Westlake to Seattle Center.

Transit agencies typically add extra service on parade day. Check the agency website the week of the event for any schedule changes or route detours.

Driving

Driving to the parade area on the day of the event is not recommended. Streets close early for the parade setup, and parking near the route is extremely limited and expensive.

If you must drive:

  • Park away from the parade route and take transit in
  • Arrive very early (before 8:00 AM) to find street parking in surrounding neighborhoods
  • Use a parking app (SpotHero, ParkWhiz) to reserve a garage spot in advance

Rideshare

Uber and Lyft are widely available in Seattle. Tips for Pride day:

  • Expect surge pricing near the parade route before and after the event
  • Set drop-off/pickup points 2-3 blocks from the main parade route to avoid closed streets
  • Schedule rides in advance if the app allows it
  • Have a backup plan — if surges are too high, transit is usually faster and cheaper on parade day

Getting around during Pride

Once you're in the Seattle Pride area, most things are walkable. The parade route, festival grounds, and nearby LGBTQ+ neighborhoods are all within a reasonable walking distance.

Wear comfortable shoes — you'll walk more than you expect between the parade, festival, restaurants, and nightlife.
