Route overview
The parade steps off at Market Street & Beale Street at 10:30 AM and heads west along Market Street. The route ends at Civic Center Plaza (City Hall), covering about 1.5 miles.
The full parade typically takes 2-3 hours for all groups to pass any given point. The front of the march reaches the end point well before the last groups have stepped off.
Best viewing spots
- Near the start (Market Street & Beale Street) — You'll see groups at their freshest and most energized. Less crowded than mid-route.
- Mid-route along Market Street — The densest crowds and most festive atmosphere. Arrive at least 90 minutes early for a front-row spot.
- Near the finish (Civic Center Plaza) — Great energy as marchers reach the end. Often near the main festival area.
