What to expect at Denver PrideFest 2026

Denver PrideFest is a two-day celebration at Civic Center Park, between the Colorado State Capitol and the Denver City and County Building. The festival features three live music stages, 200+ vendors and exhibitors, food trucks, beer gardens, a community marketplace, family activities, and drag performances throughout the day.

The parade on Sunday morning is a joyful march through Capitol Hill — one of Denver's most LGBTQ-friendly neighborhoods — ending at the festival grounds. The early 9:30 AM start time means the parade finishes before the midday heat, and the festival runs all afternoon.

Denver PrideFest is known for its welcoming, community-first atmosphere. The crowd is diverse — families, couples, college students, and longtime residents all mix together in one of Denver's biggest annual celebrations.

The parade route

The parade starts on the east side of Cheesman Park at 9:30 AM and heads west through the Capitol Hill neighborhood along Colfax Avenue, ending at Civic Center Park at Broadway. The route is about 2 miles and takes roughly 2 hours for all groups to pass.

Best viewing is along Colfax Avenue between York Street and Broadway — the wide street gives great sightlines. The Civic Center Park finish area is also a great spot as floats arrive at the festival. Arrive by 8:30 AM for Colfax spots near Cheesman Park.

Key neighborhoods

Capitol Hill — Denver's LGBTQ+ neighborhood, centered around Broadway and Colfax Avenue. The parade route runs right through it. Packed with independent bars, restaurants, coffee shops, and vintage stores. The vibe is eclectic, artsy, and proudly queer.

Baker — South of downtown, Baker (South Broadway corridor) has a thriving restaurant and bar scene with a welcoming LGBTQ+ presence. Antique Row and local breweries make it a great area to explore.

RiNo (River North Art District) — Denver's arts and brewery district, northeast of downtown. Converted warehouses house galleries, craft breweries, restaurants, and event venues. The murals and street art are worth a visit. Increasingly popular for Pride weekend events.

Where to stay

Capitol Hill is the best base for Pride — you're on the parade route and walking distance to the festival and nightlife. Downtown Denver hotels near the 16th Street Mall are also convenient and a short walk to Civic Center Park.

LoDo (Lower Downtown) near Union Station has plenty of hotel options and great restaurants. RiNo has boutique hotels with a more local feel.

Denver is at 5,280 feet elevation. If you're not acclimated, drink extra water and go easy on alcohol — it hits harder at altitude. June weather is warm and sunny with highs in the mid-80s, but the dry climate makes it very comfortable.

Getting there

RTD Light Rail is the easiest transit option. The Civic Center station (D, H, E lines) drops you right at the festival entrance. The Free Mall Ride runs along 16th Street Mall connecting Union Station to Civic Center.

Denver International Airport (DEN) is about 30 miles east of downtown. The A Line commuter rail runs directly from the airport to Union Station in 37 minutes.

Parking downtown is limited on PrideFest weekend. Use one of the park-and-ride lots along the light rail lines or take the train from Union Station.
